There is a lot of stuff going on right now. I have been in the studio a lot and recorded two songs with Hands on Deck and three with Soular, which will be out soon.

I also worked with the awesome girls from Nachtblau and acted as their ‘producer’ of sorts. I am mixing a couple of songs for them and I’m really thrilled about it!

The exams phase at ArtEZ is coming up, so there is loads of playing and rehearsing to do. I’m going to play four Eindexamens this year, so check out the live dates and please do come out ;)

Here is some new stuff from Flux Kompensator: Behind the Walls, which we wrote, recorded and shot this little video for in February on a ‘bandvaction’ in Berlin. Hope you enjoy!

I finally came around to updating some live dates. I got asked in December 2011 to join the Boston Tea Party, a well known Dutch cover band, and will now be playing a lot of gigs with them. The list is growing nicely, and it’s really fun to play with them!

In other news, I finished my (sort of) Bachelor Thesis some weeks ago, and since I really loved the topic, I’d like to put it online on here for anybody who’s interested. Unfortunately, it’s only in German, so sorry for you other guys! I wrote about sampling and it’s effects on and implications for Hip-Hop music, and learned a lot myself in the process of researching everything. You can find the PDF of my Scriptie (that’s what the thesis is called at ArtEZ) right here. Hope you enjoy!

Flux Kompensator is finally up on YouTube! This was recorded at a concert this March, the song is called “Gin & Diesel” and was not included in our EP.

Two impressions from the Flux Kompensator rehearsal sessions.

In the coming week, Flux Kompensator is gonna have three days of sweet rehearsing and songwriting time. Since Ivo, our guitarrist, moved to Berlin, we don’t have a regular rehearsal schedule anymore, so we’re planning to meet up in either Arnhem or Berlin, write songs, and hopefully play some concerts. I’m excited to see with what new songs we’ll leave the room next week!

My favorite photo of the shooting we did with Hands on Deck. I really like the lighting in this picture, the way the shadows fall.

Hello Internets.

I decided to start a blog/website/tumblr. We’ll see if life allows me to keep it up to date, but for now: welcome to my new home. Also check out those neat little pages I’ve arranged for you at the top.
